Our TK classes rocked the 50th day of school with a fun ‘50s Day! 🐩
They practiced counting to 50, learned 1950s dance moves, explored a record player, and made milkshake crafts. What a blast from the past! 🍨

We are incredibly grateful to the El Segundo Rotary Club for sponsoring the Teacher Mini-Grant Program. Thanks to them, the program was able to award $200 grants to numerous Center Street School teachers and their classrooms.
Your partnership is transforming education in so many ways. Thank you! 😄
We hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! 🦃

Our 6th graders are diving deep into the world of literary genres! Last week, they teamed up in collaborative groups to learn about their assigned genres, from mystery and fantasy to nonfiction and historical fiction. ✨📚
Together, they created colorful and creative posters that highlight key elements, examples, and exciting details about their genres. Next up: a gallery walk, where they’ll share their work with peers and expand their literary horizons!

Students danced at Step It Up Day! This fun-filled day raised $78,000 for PTA so they can provide special events, class resources and school activities! 🎉

Our second graders created collage landscapes inspired by the works of infamous artist Chilean Arpilleras. Creativity is always flourishing in the art room! 🎨

Edee Figueroa (Sanchez) is a Special Education Instructional Assistant at Center Street School. Before launching her career, she was a student in El Segundo USD! 🤗

Hands-on learning in action! 🩺
Last week, our ESHS PLTW Biomedical students welcomed the Torrance Memorial Medical Center Pharmacology team to explore the importance of the meningococcal vaccine.
Students even practiced their skills by administering “vaccines” on oranges!

There will be no school November 25-29 for Thanksgiving Recess. Enjoy your break! 🍗

Our FLIGHT students have been taking part in some campus beautification projects. What a great effort by our young leaders! 👏

Our November 1 Pupil Free Day was far from a day off for our staff!
ESHS teachers participated in professional learning focused on AI literacy, student support, and instructional articulation between courses. Proud Eagles staying hungry to be better! 🦅

In 7th grade science, our young geologists took a deep dive into the powerful forces shaping our planet! 🌍
Using interactive models, students explored how tectonic plates move and collide, leading to the formation of ocean basins, mountains, earthquakes, and volcanoes. It was hands-on learning at its best as they visualized the Earth’s dynamic crust in action. 🌋
From shifting plates to rising mountains, our students are discovering the science behind Earth’s major geological events—and loving every moment of it!

We loved hearing from Nate Webb at the ESMS assembly! He shared powerful lessons on kindness, anti-bullying, and resilience in a digital world.
Special thanks to our PTSA for sponsoring. Let’s keep these values at the heart of our school community! 🐾

Elena Wagner-Bagues is an outstanding Spanish teacher at El Segundo High School. But before that, she was a student here! 🌟

On Education Support Professionals Day, we celebrate our amazing ESPs! 🎉
Whether you’re supervising bus drop-offs, helping students during lunch, or stepping in with classroom support, your contributions are vital. Thank you for fostering a positive and safe environment for all!

We cannot possibly speak about our preschool without mentioning one person who has been here through the years—and that is Ms. Mary Jo! ❤️
Her many years of service and support of #ESUSD comes down to her experience with learning through play. There is a healthy balance of traditional and student-driven activities in her class.
Here she is waiting for friends while becoming part of a spontaneous student game. Kids began singing with her while she counted their circles around her.
What a splendid teachable moment in a preschool day! 🌞

Sarah Chang teaches 3rd grade students at Center Street. But did you know she’s also an ESHS alum? Once an Eagle, always an Eagle! 🦅

Our young learners in TK and Kindergarten celebrated the 50th day of school in fashion by hosting a sock hop dance. The staff got dressed up, too! 🪩

Last week the preschool students discovered new facts about corn! 🌽
Teachers discussed all of the ways we use corn in our food. The children were given kernels on their sensory tables to explore and were able to grind the corn kernels!
