Gwen Sanders, CPA, is the founder of GS Financial Services, bringing over 20 years of experience in both public and private accounting. Gwen is known for her deep industry expertise and unwavering commitment to client success. At GS Financial Services, she partners with privately held companies, venture-backed startups, and nonprofit organizations to deliver strategic financial insights and value-driven solutions. A proud El Segundo resident since 2009, Gwen is deeply involved in her community, volunteering with the Center Street Elementary PTA, AYSO, and other local organizations. Originally from Lake Arrowhead, California, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family—boating, skiing, and camping in their VW Westfalia.

Randall Duncan, community-at-large representative
Randall Duncan is a construction industry professional having spent his career working in the education, aviation, and transportation markets in the U.S., and spent five (5) years working on a pre-planned city in Saudi Arabia. Mr. Duncan is a LEED Accredited Professional and has worked in the capacity as program director, program manager or principal in charge on several bond programs (e.g. LACCD, LAUSD, LACC, Grossmont UHSD, Colton JUSD, San Diego USD, Fremont USD) as well as program director on a Regional Intermodal Transportation Center project. He recently completed work on the LAX-Consolidated Rental Car Facility project. He and his wife enjoy life in the south bay, residing in El Segundo.

Chris Powell, senior citizens' organization representative
Chris Powell is a certified public accountant who served as chief financial officer for Washington Iron Works for more than 30 years until his retirement in late 2021. The 100-year old commercial steel/iron company worked on some of the most iconic construction projects in southern California. He enjoys volunteering his time by serving charitable and civic organizations within El Segundo. He is member and treasurer for the El Segundo Rotary Club, a board member for the El Segundo Education Foundation, treasurer at his local church, and past president of the El Segundo Chamber of Commerce. He served ESUSD for 14 years as a member of the Board of Education, including four terms as president. He has resided in El Segundo since 1966, is an alumni of El Segundo High School, and a proud parent of three ESHS graduates.

Garrett Cano, parent or guardian of a child enrolled in the district
Garrett Cano has significant professional experience in auditing and accounting. This includes working as a consultant in an auditing firm to audit public construction projects. Currently Mr. Cano is employed by the Department of Defense at the Los Angeles Air Force Base in the Finance and Controls group. He is responsible for monitoring program progress, cost, schedule and performance of DOD projects. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the New City Church in El Segundo and was a volunteer coach for girls AYSO and Little League.
Mr. Cano and his wife have two children attending ESUSD schools: one at Richmond Street School and one at Eagles' Nest Preschool.
