Today marks the start of Kwanzaa—a celebration of family, community, and culture. Best wishes to all those celebrating in the coming days!
Happy Hanukkah to all celebrating in our community! May this festival of lights fill your homes with peace and the warmth of family traditions. 🕎

Merry Christmas! ESUSD sends warm holiday wishes to each of you on this wonderful day. May it be merry and bright! 🎄🌟

Happy Holidays! ✨
As we head to Winter Break, please be reminded that, per ESUSD policy and California Vehicle Code regulations, no ebikes or other vehicles of any kind are allowed on the ESHS campus during the break (or any time).
Have a safe and enjoyable break!

Ms. Schmit’s Kindergarten class worked independently in small groups, giving her the opportunity to support individual students. Look at these young learners working together! 🫶

Winter Break for ESUSD will begin on December 23 and run through January 3. Students return Monday, January 6. We hope you enjoy your break! ✨

At ESUSD, we are proud of our dedicated IT staff member, Minh Nguyen. He goes above and beyond to ensure our technology operates smoothly, which is vital for teaching and administration! 🤩
Minh manages the technology needs of our high school's faculty and staff, addressing requests promptly. He skillfully supports various district departments, patiently tackling IT challenges and maintaining high service standards.

ESHS Choirs brought the holiday spirit with their annual Winter Concert! 🎵❄️
In addition to performing music from a variety of cultures, in keeping with past tradition the Choirs also recognized this year's seniors and invited any past performers to join for the alumni song. It was a night of music and community! 🎶

Our IT team has recently completed an important project to maintain seamless connectivity across our district. The team worked diligently to restore and optimize our network infrastructure as part of a significant fiber relocation to accommodate ongoing construction at the District Office.
These fiber connections are the backbone of our district's operations, providing vital links to our data center for internet access, servers, and communication between all school sites. The team's quick and efficient response ensured minimal disruption, demonstrating their commitment to running our systems smoothly, even during complex transitions.
Thank you to our dedicated IT team for their hard work and expertise in making this project successful! 🌟

Due to a City Council meeting taking place at the same time, we are moving our ESUSD Board of Education meeting back to our District Board Room (641 Sheldon St., El Segundo) for the meeting on Tuesday, December 17.
Please note that construction is still taking place at the District Office. If you're attending Tuesday's meeting, please do the following:
✅ Enter the District Office from the Sheldon Street entrance.
✅ Once inside the lobby, make a right down the stairs.
✅ Continue straight down the second flight of stairs and make a left.
✅ Continue walking straight along the baseball fence until you reach the Arena Street parking lot and the Board Room building.
✅ Make an immediate left to access the entrance to the Board Room.
The meeting starts at 6:00pm. Find board agendas, minutes and other information here: https://go.boarddocs.com/ca/esusd/Board.nsf/Public
Thank you for your patience and flexibility!

Eagles are getting jazzy, as ESHS now has a jazz band class! 🎷

Shoutout to Ms. Kasai, our amazing ESMS art teacher who turned a simple succulent into a creative masterpiece! Inspired by their passion, our student artists are flourishing as they bring vibrant succulents to life through chalk pastels. 🎨💚
Here's to educators who inspire—and the students who remind us that art can grow from the most unexpected places!

Our preschoolers have started the Handwriting Without Tears Program! ✍️
They used name cards and wooden materials to spell out their first names, which will later help them write names on paper. It’s a small activity that will end with students being able to write their names!

Our amazing music teacher, Ms. Ukrisna, and all of our Blue Butterflies were shining bright and singing songs at our Winter Sing Concert! 🎶

The individuals who serve on our PTA pour their hearts into everything they do for Richmond Street School. Check out all the ways they’ve shown love to our staff this school year! 😀

ESUSD FLIGHT students worked with both academic and functional vocabulary preparing them to meaningfully participate in our community. Ms. Hillbrand led a lesson on understanding context cues! 📝

We’re proud to celebrate Computer Science Education Week! 🧑💻💫
A heartfelt thank you goes to the computer science educators who spark curiosity, foster innovation, and equip students with 21st century skills. Your dedication makes a lasting impact on their futures!

On International Volunteer Day, we recognize the impact volunteers make in our schools each day.
Whether it’s mentoring students, assisting with projects, staffing after-school clubs, or chaperoning field trips, you make a world of difference. Thank you so much! 🙏

We sincerely thank the incredible Center Street School PTA for celebrating our students’ outstanding fundraising efforts for the Jogathon. 🏃
Check out the photos from their celebration on the quad!

Have you seen our interactive bulletin board? 🔍
Center Street staff have been using it to express why they’re grateful for our school community. Pretty soon, the branches will be filled with colorful leaves—and gratitude!
Stop by the main office to see what makes Center Street such an exceptional place to be!
