Rosa Parks Day
Today is National Freedom Day. On this day in 1865, President Abraham Lincoln signed the 13th Amendment, which eradicated slavery in the United States. The El Segundo Unified School District observes this day as a reminder of how far we’ve come as a country, as well as the work that has yet to be done to achieve true equality and freedom.
