On Education Support Professionals Day, we celebrate our amazing ESPs! 🎉
Whether you’re supervising bus drop-offs, helping students during lunch, or stepping in with classroom support, your contributions are vital. Thank you for fostering a positive and safe environment for all!

Last week the preschool students discovered new facts about corn! 🌽
Teachers discussed all of the ways we use corn in our food. The children were given kernels on their sensory tables to explore and were able to grind the corn kernels!

Our young learners in TK and Kindergarten celebrated the 50th day of school in fashion by hosting a sock hop dance. The staff got dressed up, too! 🪩

Sarah Chang teaches 3rd grade students at Center Street. But did you know she’s also an ESHS alum? Once an Eagle, always an Eagle! 🦅

Our middle school students are enjoying the new gym built under Measure ES. Thank you, once again, to the El Segundo community for this gift to our students! 🏀🏐🏃

Huge Eagle shout-out to ESHS senior Caleb Tsai, who qualified as a National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist for his excellent performance on the PSAT as a junior, making him eligible for part of over $27 million in scholarships distributed by the National Merit Scholarship Program!
The NMS distinction is earned by only 1% of all students nationwide, making Caleb part of a select group of students across the country. Way to go, Caleb! 🥳

This week, we honor the dedication of educators and the unwavering support of staff, families, and so many others. American Education Week reminds us how vital it is to work together to ensure every student thrives.
Thank you for all the support you provide to our students! 🙏

ESMS had a fantastic visit from Superintendent Dr. Johnson, who engaged our students in a meaningful focus group discussion!
The session provided a valuable opportunity for students to voice the challenges they encounter, fostering an environment where they feel heard and valued. ❤️

Our most recent teacher inservice day was a huge success! Teachers from Richmond Street and Center Street shared their knowledge and experiences with colleagues throughout the district.
The topic of discussion was vertical articulation and how to best use it to support students. Thank you for sharing your expertise with us!

We want to hear from you! 💌
To all of our amazing ESUSD Alumni, we are doing outreach to learn more about your post-high school experience (including what we did well and what we could strengthen) so that we can better support ESUSD students and graduates!
In addition, we want to find ways to maintain our connection to you and to one another as you navigate your path forward in the world. In November, Native American Heritage Month invites us to honor the deep roots of indigenous communities here in southern California and across the United States.
Celebrating this heritage is more than acknowledging history—it’s about understanding the present contributions and future aspirations of Native American peoples.

ESHS raised money for Red Ribbon Week with its annual student kickball tournament. The Lucky Leprechauns won for the second year in a row to repeat as champions! ❤️
The Leprechauns then doubled down and defeated the staff team, 8-7. Overall, it was a great time that raised over $500 for charity!

Tiffany Maisonet graduated from El Segundo High School. Now, she teaches AP Biology and Biomedical Sciences at her alma mater!
We are so happy to have you in our community, Tiffany! 😄

Preschool students at Eagle’s Nest took part in some hands-on experimentation by making some fizzy potions during Halloween week activities! 🧪👻

It’s World Kindness Day! We want to thank our students for the kindness and respect they show to each other every day. 💛
Your small acts of kindness—like helping a friend, sharing a smile, or listening to others—make our schools a better place for everyone. Keep up the amazing work!

Lindsay Sweeney is a proud ESHS alumnus who now serves our educational community as a transitional kindergarten teacher at Richmond Street School! 🙌

Our students at Center Street School loved getting in the spirit for Red Ribbon Week! Check out some pictures from the week as our students celebrated making positive choices.
Thank you to everyone who participated in Red Ribbon Week 2024! 👍
