Today, the Richmond Street School officially receives the 2023 California Distinguished School Award!
The school has been recognized for its positive 2022 California School Dashboard data, which reflects significant progress in closing achievement gaps and increasing student performance in the areas of CAASPP assessments, chronic absenteeism, suspension rates, and socioeconomic data. Only 356 out of the 5,872 elementary schools in California—or about 6 percent—received the award this year.
The award is based on the growth of the whole child, including students being present, making good behavioral choices, and thriving academically.
A huge congratulations goes out to the teachers, staff, students, and families of Richmond Street!
