Sept 26 Board Meeting
Reach Out Against Drugs (ROAD), in partnership with ESUSD, has worked since 1988 to empower student leaders and provide alcohol and drug abuse awareness, education, and prevention in our schools and throughout the El Segundo community. In 2020, ROAD dissolved, as the school district had started to run and maintain the programs that were established during the early years of the organization. Former members of ROAD came to the September 12 board meeting to speak about the legacy of ROAD and to present ESUSD with a donation of over $64,000 from the remaining funds of the ROAD account. The district can use the funds for alcohol and drug abuse education and prevention, social-emotional learning and support, and resources or education for parents and students addressing substance abuse matters. We’re incredibly grateful for this contribution!
