New Assistant Principal event

The El Segundo Unified School District welcomes Bridget Fredrickson as the new assistant principal for El Segundo Middle School beginning with the 2021-2022 school year. The ESUSD Board of Education approved the hiring of Ms. Frederickson at its June 22, 2021 meeting.

Ms. Fredrickson previously served as Assistant Principal at Alain LeRoy Locke Preparatory Academy, a charter high school in Los Angeles. There she was the administrator over curriculum and guidance where she fostered professional learning communities, coached teachers, and was directly responsible for the new teacher mentor program.

Prior to 2017, Ms. Fredrickson worked in LAUSD as EL and Title I Coordinator, AP Coordinator, and Biology Teacher.

In addition to her work in the school setting, Ms. Fredrickson works at the university level assisting in the development of new teachers. She’s worked as an instructor mentoring teachers in the CSU Dominguez Hills Teacher Support Institute and she facilitated training through UCLA for the LAUSD Mobilize teacher program.

Ms. Fredrickson has done significant work around diversity, equity, and inclusion, and closing the achievement gap for EL students and students with disabilities. She comes with a stellar reputation and we are excited to have her join the team.
