Free and Reduced Price Meal Program

Please be sure to reapply for the

THE FREE and REDUCED LUNCH PROGRAM EVERY YEAR

  • If your family qualified for the lunch program last year, you must re-apply now to sustain eligibility.
  • Please submit one application per household.
  • Once the application is submitted, Food Services Department staff must verify your eligibility based on California Department of Education eligibility criteria.
  • Email notification will be sent to each family with the results of their application or agency certification for the 2020-21 school year.
  • El Segundo Unified School District does not charge for "Reduced" meals at this time.

  • If your family is receiving MediCal or CalFresh benefits, please complete the form at this time. The Food Services Department will also verify  eligibility through the various agencies for direct certification. An email will be sent to notify each family of the results of their application or agency certification for the 2020-21 school year

  • If your financial situation should change, you can apply all year.

My School Bucks Meal Payment Accounts

  • Prepaying for meals on-line at “My School Bucks” or with the “My School Bucks” app, allows you to put funds in your student’s account immediately.
  • You can set up low fund alerts and monitor your student’s choices at the cafeteria!
  • Due to COVID-19, cash transactions will no longer be accepted.
 
Fall Seamless Summer Meals
 

On Wednesday, September 2, 2020, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) extended a waiver allowing for any child ages 1 – 18 to receive breakfast and lunch services seven days a week at no cost

 

To accommodate the new allowances, the Food Services Department has adjusted the meal distribution schedule.  Starting September 8, 2020, the new schedule will be as follows:

 

Center Street School

 

Circular Drive

7:30 - 9:00 a.m.

 

12:30 - 1:30 p.m.

Tuesdays

Breakfast and Lunch for Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

Fridays

Breakfast and Lunch for Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays  and Mondays.

El Segundo High School

 

Oak Street Entrance

7:30 - 9:00 a.m.

 

12:30 - 1:30 p.m.

Tuesdays

Breakfast and Lunch for Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

Fridays

Breakfast and Lunch for Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays  and Mondays.

 

  • Any child aged 1 – 18 years may pick up breakfast and lunch with no charge.
  • There is no requirement to show eligibility for any programs.
  • This service is solely for the pickup of meals to be consumed off site.  Preparation instructions will be included and are posted at the top of this page. 
  • Adults may pick up meals without children present by providing the first and last name of the child receiving the meals, and showing photo identification for the adult.
  • It is still recommended that qualifying families apply for the FRMP to access other benefits available to qualifying families. This USDA waiver is in effect until the end of the 2020-2021 school year.
 

Special Meal Requests

If you should you need a special meal request for your student due to a medical situation, please download and fill out the attached flyer and bring the completed form to the District Office for the school nurse and cafeteria records.
