COVID 19 Updates for Community and Staff

Board of Education Passes Emergency Resolution in Support of Superintendent's Declaration of Emergency Arising from the Spread of Coronavirus - COVID 19
 
The attached Declaration and Resolution authorizes to the Superintendent to take emergency actions in response to the rapidly changing situation relating to COVID 19. With these actions the Superintendent is able to take steps, such as altering the instructional delivery model, school hours, and staffing decisions on an emergency basis.
3/17 - School Office Hours Reduced
 

Dear parents, community, and staff,

In an effort to reduce the risk of exposure to COVID 19, ESUSD has significantly limited the number of staff reporting to work at school sites and the District office. In accordance with the new regulation, effective immediately we have secured school campuses and the district office.  Site administrators and support staff will be on site from 8am to 12pm, Monday through Friday. Afternoon communications will be managed remotely. We ask parents and the public to avoid unnecessary person-to-person interactions. We will take meetings by appointment only and primarily handle meetings through remote means. Please limit school business to phone and email communication when possible.

Thank you for understanding. We will keep you updated with changes as they occur.

3/16 - Superintendent's Message
 

Dear ESUSD Parents and Community,

Today was the first day of ESUSD’s school closure and launch of remote learning to help reduce the spread of the coronavirus both locally and as a statewide effort. All ESUSD school sites are closed from March 16 through April 3, 2020, followed by spring break April 6-10. Just as a point of clarification, during spring break, there will be no teachers on virtual/remote duty. 

 

During this unprecedented time, we plan to provide information, tools, and resources to help ESUSD families navigate remote learning, and hopefully ease stress and anxiety for all family members.

 

All secondary teachers in sixth through twelfth grade will reach out to students today. All elementary teachers will be sending out a communication to parents today. We recognize that this is new for all of us involved. We recognize that troubleshooting issues will likely need to occur. Thus, I would like to cover whom to contact with questions or concerns regarding remote learning. Your first contact should remain your child’s teacher(s). If the situation involves an issue such as student well-being, due increased stress or anxiety or difficulty managing assignments, it would be appropriate to contact the school’s counselor. If the situation is not resolved with the teacher, then contact the school’s principal or assistant principal. If you or your child have any need for technology support or assistance, please contact techsupport@esusd.net.
