Benefits Committee Update

El Segundo Unified School District takes pride in offering a benefits program that provides flexibility for the diverse and changing needs of our employees. The School district offers employees and their family members a full range of benefits. You may choose the options that best meet your needs. The medical and life insurance plans are offered through California’s Valued Trust (CVT); while the dental and vision plans are through Benefit Coordinator’s Corporation (BCC). Full time CSEA members are able to “opt-out” of medical benefits at a low contribution, and they can also "opt-out" of dental and vision coverage with no penalty. Part-time classified employees can forgo all benefits without penalty.

2020-21 Benefit Program Open Enrollment

The Open Enrollment period is from August 24 - September 25, 2020.  As an El Segundo U.S.D. employee, you may use this Open Enrollment period as an opportunity to make changes to your current medical, dental, vision and life insurance elections.  All employees must renew or enroll annually even if there are no changes.  

There is a benefit planning form below to use in planning benefit selections. Please select the one that applies to your job type. This form is for planning purposes only, and will not enroll an employee in benefits. 

New for 2020-2021,  CVT Online Enrollment!


For the 2020-21 school year enrollment in medical benefits for Classified Employees will be done online through the MyCVT enrollment platform.  To access the platform click here. (Please register an account and select El Segundo Unified School District as your school district and Classified as your employee type if you haven't done so already.)


Dental and vision enrollment should be submitted to Marni Ortiz (, Payroll and Benefit Specialist, on the Dental and Vision Enrollment Form below before September 30, 2020.
