Safety Message from Dr. Moore, Superintendent

Dear ESUSD Families,

As you may be aware, the Los Angeles Unified School District closed all schools today in response to a specific threat made anonymously to a number of schools. We assure you that the safety of students and staff is a top priority for our District, and we are monitoring these events very closely. The El Segundo Unified School District has received no such threats, and as such, there are no school closures in our District. We are working closely with the El Segundo Police Department and neighboring school districts to ensure that there continues to be no imminent threats or dangers to our students. During these challenging times, it is important that we remain cautious and prepared, while at the same time instilling a sense of calm and security for our students. In the event we receive any information causing concern for the safety of our students and campuses, we will take all appropriate actions to secure our students and staff. Thank you and we look forward to seeing all students in school today.

Sincerely,

Dr. Melissa Moore
Superintendent
