El Segundo High School Class of 2017 Takes a Walk Down Memory Lane; Seniors in caps and gowns visit Richmond Street and Center Street Schools in nostalgic visit

On Friday, June 2, Richmond Street School’s “Senior Walk” will take place at 1:00 p.m. and Center Street School’s will begin at 1:15 p.m. ESHS seniors will walk from the high school to either school as a group with teachers and administrators. Students walking to Center Street School will walk through the district preschool (located at the El Segundo Unified School District main office) while picking up Arena High School graduates at approximately 1:00 p.m.

The City of El Segundo was made for such an event. It’s a way for seniors to remember just how far they have come while inspiring the next generation of Eagles. “After a successful inaugural event last June, the entire school community is looking forward to this year’s walk down memory lane,” said Robin Espinoza, ESHS director of student activities. “When an elementary school teacher sees a former student in cap and gown they glow with pride, parents may well up with tears, and the students stand just a little bit taller knowing they are inspiring the next generation.

ESUSD hopes to make the Senior Walk a long-lasting tradition for a community that invests so much in its young people. The district is thankful to administrators, teachers and students who were all instrumental in making this event a reality.
