Gender Neutral Bathroom Law

From the Law Offices of Atkinson, Andelson, Romo, Ruud and Romo: Governor Brown signed Assembly Bill 1732 in late September, continuing California’s progressive approach toward protecting transgender individuals. AB 1732 augments the nation’s most inclusive access policy — requiring single-user occupancy restrooms in businesses, government buildings, and places of public accommodation to be available to everyone. Compliance requires changes to restroom signage to designate single-occupancy restrooms as "all gender."

Most restrooms around the District have been relabeled with unisex signage. As a result of the massive need for new signage throughout the state, some of our signs are on back order and will be in soon. If you notice a single user restroom that has not had the signage changed, please alert your site administrator.
