Transforming Education for a Changing World
Dear ESUSD Parents and Community Members,
As a learning organization, we collectively are committed to providing your children with a high quality instructional program. As part of this commitment, the El Segundo Unified School District’s Board of Education and I are in the process of developing our Goals for the Futureto identify the most important or pressing needs for the next four years. The plan should both support the needs of current students and anticipate future needs that will enable student success.
At this time, the District would like to call upon all of you to get involved. We have scheduled three Town Hall Meetings for the purpose of outreach to the parents and community members in order to seek feedback on the proposed Goals for the Future. Parents from any of our schools are welcome to attend any one of the sessions. The Town Hall meetings are scheduled on the following dates:
September 25: 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., Richmond Street School, 615 Richmond Street
October 1: 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., El Segundo High School Library, 640 Main Street
October 14: 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., Center Street School, 700 Center Street, El Segundo
The same presentation will occur at each meeting followed by a small break-out group session to consider the following guiding questions:
- What do you like about the recommended goals for the future? Which action items do you consider to be top priorities?
- Should any recommended goal or action be revised? Why?
- What did we miss? Should another action be considered as an addition to the recommended goals? If so, why?
It is our belief that when all stakeholders work together a better outcome is generated. Faculty members from all school sites will also be participating in engagement sessions to provide feedback as well. We want to hear from you! I encourage all stakeholders to become involved in having a voice regarding our Goals for the Future.
