Board of Education Appoints Two ESUSD Administrators to New Positions



Director of Operations

Effective June 17, 2019, the Board of Education approved Mr. Ali Rabiei as Director of Operations for ESUSD. His new responsibilities will include operations, maintenance, safety and risk management. Rabiei has been with the district since 2011 and has served in a variety of capacities including acting principal at ESMS, assistant principal at ESMS, assistant principal at El Segundo High School (ESHS), and interim principal at ESHS. He earned his master’s degree in sociology from California State University, Dominguez Hills and bachelor’s degrees in political science and sociology from University of California, Irvine. He is known for his tremendous follow through, prompt response time, commitment to student safety, and affinity for regulations. He has a background in personal property maintenance and improvement. 


Assistant Principal, El Segundo Middle School

Effective July 1, 2019, the Board also officially appointed Sarah Davlantis as assistant principal at ESMS. She is a 15-year educator who has served as acting assistant principal at ESMS, intervention specialist at ESHS, leadership and WASC chair at ESHS and social studies teacher. Davalantis has been a teacher leader throughout her tenure at ESUSD and has a unique understanding of the district having attended schools here. Davlantis earned her master’s degree in educational administration from Pepperdine University and a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University. She has received specialized training in equity, multi-tiered system of support, RULER for social emotional learning, achievement teams and AVID. She clearly proved herself serving in an acting administrative role for the past six months.
